HALESWORTH WHISPERS / HELLO WALLY

Written in April 2021 through a creative conversation with Jean. Known to many as 'Jean the Cleaner' when she worked at The Cut Arts Centre for many years, some know her as 'Wally's wife', as her late husband Wally was also a popular character in the town. The poem was read on The Lesley Dolphin Show on BBC Radio Suffolk on the 30th April 2021.

MR PICKLES (of Laxfield)

Meet Mr Pickles of Laxfield - 'I'm a chiweenie, cross between a chihuahua and a sausage dog...' This is a new poem all about a popular canine character in a little Suffolk village which came out of a 'Creative Conversation' with Mr Pickles' mum. The poem was read on The Lesley Dolphin Show on BBC Radio Suffolk on the 29th January 2021.

THE RAILWAY INN (at Framlingham)

A poem that takes you back to the busy Railway Inn at Framlingham in Suffolk. Written from a 'Creative Conversation' with former landlady Maureen Coleman, who shared many stories of her 20 years at the pub with her late husband George. This new poem was read on The Lesley Dolphin Show on BBC Radio Suffolk on 19 March 2021.
